  China Commercial Car Sales Up 27.05% in March 08

Commercial car sales in China in March 2008 doubled the figure of this February to 356,100 units, 27.05% higher than a year ago, statistics from China Association of Automobile Manufacturers shows.  The booming market this March boosted the first-quarter commercial car sales to 727,557 units, up 24% from a year earlier. Beiqi Foton Motor Co., Ltd., the largest single commercial car manufacturer in the country, sold over 65,000 cars in the month, maintaining its first position in the industry of the country and beating Benz as the world's largest commercial car manufacturer in term of sales this month. In the month, the country sold 325,737 trucks, up 30% year on year, and 21,528 buses, up 3%. And during the first three months, 645,653 trucks and 57,768 buses were sold, rising 27% and 9%, respectively.

As for the truck sector, heavy-duty trucks, light-duty trucks, 25-40-ton semi-trailer towing vehicles and heavy-duty truck chassis saw soaring market share.
