Chinese Vice Premier Hui Liangyu will attend the World Summit on Food Security scheduled for Nov. 16 to 18 in Rome, Italy, at the invitation of Jacques Diouf, director general of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang made the announcement here on Tuesday at a regular press briefing.

Hui will also pay an official visit to Syria from Nov. 18 to 20at the invitation of Syrian Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah al-Dardari.
